Real Farmers. Real Pork. Probably Some Chaos.
Meet the Wild Bunch
If you’ve ever wondered where the name Wild Bunch Farm comes from, well… spend five minutes at our place, and it’ll make sense. It all started as a nickname for our four kids—who, let’s just say, kept life very interesting. When we started farming in 2013, it seemed only fitting to slap that name on the whole operation.
We decided early on that Berkshire pigs were the best fit for our land (and for people who appreciate really good pork). Over the years, this little farm of ours has grown—not just in pigs, but in family, grandkids, and a whole lot of hard-earned wisdom.
Our Farming Philosophy: Happy Pigs, Healthy Land, and Really Good Pork
We’re a farrow-to-finish farm, which is just a fancy way of saying we raise our pigs from birth to harvest—no middlemen, no questionable suppliers, just hands-on care from day one.
Here’s what that means:
Our hogs are raised in family groups, because that’s how pigs like to live.
Our sows don’t give birth in crates—they’ve got space to move, roam, and mother the way they naturally would.
Our pigs get the best of both worlds—inside when they want, outside when they feel like it. We let them choose.
The Family Behind the Farm
Like any good family farm, everyone gets put to work—many hands bring everything together.
Sage was our most dedicated farmhand in the early days, putting in the work and earning his American Farmer Degree—one of the FFA’s top honors. We’re still pretty proud of that one.
Ethan had the sales game locked down, convincing folks that yes, they did in fact need more bacon.
Breanna & Skyler have done everything from helping with piglets to holding down the farm while we travel. They’ve kept things running when we needed an extra hand!
Fast-forward a few years, and our family has only gotten bigger—we now have five grandkids and three bonus kids. From our logo, designed by Breanna’s husband Jacob, to our grandkids filling up water tanks everyone helps.
A Farm Built on Community (And Bacon Loyalty)
We love our customers. And we know that grocery prices can be rough, which is why we work hard to keep our pork as affordable as possible without cutting corners on quality, animal welfare, or sustainability.
Our little farm in Mount Vernon, Missouri has built a solid local following, and it’s not just because we make damn good pork (though that helps). It’s because we believe in old-school service, real connections, and treating people right.
So whether you’re a regular at the farmers market, a new customer stocking your freezer, or just someone who loves really good bacon—welcome to the Wild Bunch. We’re glad you’re here.
